I am celebrating 2 years at Longwood Foundation. During this time, I've been working on our Nonprofit Capacity Building work, anchoring the approach in Catalysts Together, a leadership program currently designed for DE and Kennett Square, PA nonprofit executive directors (Shameless Plug: Cohort 2 Applications are open until 8/15: https://lnkd.in/eDA58Nna)Rooting in the Foundation's values, I want to share some memorable moments during this time:Integrity and RespectI work alongside amazing colleagues at the Foundation! Whether we are grantmaking, executing strategy, or contributing to Catalysts Together, we "aspire to operate with high ethical standards, transparency, and accountability at all times". Thanks for leading an amazing team, Thère, and to Maria, Gail, Lauren, Sierra, Wes and Adara for making 1109 a place of fun and productivity.Collective LeadershipTHE NONPROFIT CAPACITY BUILDING TEAM! I cannot thank enough theconsultants who honor the Foundation's values, trust my vision (and push me to be bolder), and bring their special expertise to table! This work is all about THE TEAM. Thank you to the Core Team: Gail, Cimone, Peter, Jamey, Jack, Chonnie, Genine, Dawn; The E. Coaches: Lenny, Lisa, Carrie, Ellen, Valarie, and Carol; and Vendors: TCC Group, Social Contract, Center for Creative Leadership, BrandSwan 🦢, and Emir.Take the Long-Term ViewI am experienced enough to know that support systems are crucial for goals and strategy. I've been grateful to get accepted into the 2023 Council on Foundations's prestigious Career Pathways program and the 2024 Leadership Delaware, Inc. class. Fully embracing these development opportunities has sharpened my abilities as a seasoned leader who boomeranged back into the philanthropic space! Also, shout out to my peers Yolanda and Kanani because iron sharpens iron!Be People-Centered"Reaching my full potential" at work means I can bring my personal values of love, responsibility, liberation, action and joy to work. I am thankful the Foundation embraces our needs to be present as parents/caregivers and to be an active contributors to our community. Occasionally, you may see one of my brilliant children in the office. They get to see all sides of their mama and in turn, they are inspired by what is possible for their own future.Continuous ImprovementThis year 20 dynamic leaders joined the inaugural and pilot group for Catalysts Together and contribute to the data that helps make the program most meaningful for the target audience. Not to mention, we've had the opportunity to learn more about who they are as leaders and the work they do, every day. THANK YOU!Take Ownership and Be AccountableAfter two years of progress, there is so much more to uncover, unpack, learn, discover, and execute.I look forward to what is ahead and thank you all for supporting me, the work, and the journey! With a #gratitiudeattitude,Tamara
